after marriage depression

can you get postpartum depression 7 months after giving birth?
I gave birth 7.5 months ago and the last couple of weeks I feel very sad and depressed. First I thought something is wrong with my marriage, but now I start to think perhaps its me. There is every day something that depresses me and I start crying easely. No matter what my husband says or does, I always find something to pick on. Just in general I feel very exhausted and nothing seems to cheer me up. I try to keep myself busy, I have a job and go to school and I have our little baby. Is there a chance I could have postpartum depression that late?Otherwise I dont have an explanation for my mood! Thanks!
It’s a known fact that the combination of being overtired and overwhelmed contribute to depression. Mix that up with hormonal imbalance and you have a major depression.
Is it post-partum? You can have blood work done that will measure your levels, and your doctor should take a few minutes to figure what your next move should be.
We all want being a new mommy to be wonderful and joyous, but the reality for many of us is that motherhood is also another addition to an already hectic life.
Look at it this way…9 months ago, you had a job, and went to school with a baby quietly in the “oven”. Now you have a job, go to school and a beautiful baby! That’s a lot as far as I’m concerned. It sounds like you need some really good sleep, a good diet (something we forget about or overlook), and some fun activities. If your area has “Baby and Me” type swimming, or exercise classes, join in. You may find the company of other moms to be quite inspiring.
First, though, get with your doctor and have him/her get some tests done to see where you are hormonally!
